The Journey of the Rainbow Stones

Image: The “Rainbow Stone”  on the long way from the Earth’s heart up towards the sun, Tourmaline traveled along a rainbow (channels), collecting all the colors of the rainbow on its journey.

There I flow towards you. I want to share the sacred true. Don't you see the melody, the welcoming of the sacred trees? I want to grow, oh yes, I know. I want to feel the sacred rainbow. I want to shine, above the divine, in order for my heart to bind. There I flow towards the sacred seas, where my heart will believe. When the snowflakes bloom, there my heart will go zoom. I can fly higher than any other kite, because my heart is so full of delight. How could I see, such majesty, when love is waking up all this disease? I want to spring this kind of love for everyone.  I want them all to find rainbows in the sun. Oh can you feel, the dangers oh, they are so real. I know it's true, but love will slide on through.

Come join my hands. There we will be one heavenly band. Oh take my soul, up up on the rainbow. Let me slide down, to where the treasures make sound. Let me slide down that rainbow, in the sacred ground. Let me plant my seeds and watch them grow. I will bloom like flowers in the snow. Just because there is heartache in the world, does not mean all this suffering is not for a sacred worth. It's love that blooms to bring in zoom. I want to fly, into the heavenly rooms.

There we join together, one circle one band. It's many colors, and each one will take a stand. Yes, I will sea, my heart will free disease. I will be the shelter, for those who are in the helter skelter (mixed up and confused). Just want you to know, that glory is bounding in your heart. And if you dream of rainbows and their sacred arc, you will find, oh yes you will find, the love that you sought, but you thought it was all for wrought, but in this pain, love did grow. And all this insane, helps us know.Rainbow stones each and every child is grand. Each color is the purple majesty of this land (red road flesh cross the blue road soul, virtues exposed). Come shine with me, to sail the seas. Come take my hand and we will band together on one land. And all the shores will be mightier you see. Because we will learn about heavenly hands across the seas. Come share divine, let your heart sing each and every day. Let the world know love and all it's favored displays. And we will be, one family. We will be, heavenly breeze. And the rainbow will stand, upon this sacred land. Mythology and Lore of the Rainbow Stone:  
Tourmaline is known as the “Rainbow Stone” from an ancient Egyptian legend: on the long way from the Earth’s heart up towards the sun, Tourmaline travelled along a rainbow, collecting all the colours of the rainbow on its journey.  The name derives from the Sinhalese (Ceylon) word “tura mali” meaning "stone of mixed colours". Tourmaline comes in every color of the rainbow. No gem family is more diverse than tourmaline.Tourmaline is am amazing gemstone that comes in any color you can imagine.  It even comes in Black and White!  Due to its versatility Tourmaline has been a favorite of gem lovers for hundreds of years.

The Empress Dowager Tz’u Hsi, the last Empress of China, was a great collector of pink tourmaline and rubellite.  She imported tons of tourmaline from Southern California in the early twentieth century, creating a gem rush in San Diego during the period. She loved pink tourmaline so much that she was laid to rest on a pillow carved from this gemstone.

Tourmaline is the birthstone for the month of October and is associated with the zodiac sign of Libra. Legend says tourmaline inspires artistic expression, enhances intuition, increase self-confidence and amplify one’s psychic energies. Tourmaline may be used to neutralize negative energies, dispel fear and grief, and to aid in concentration and communication.

Metaphysically, Tourmalines are one of the most powerful and healing of gemstones to work with. The resonant energy of Tourmalines relates to each of the chakras according to its color. Tourmaline can be used to attract inspiration, to diminish fear by promoting understanding, and to encourage self confidence. It acts to clear, maintain and stimulate each of the energy centers of the body. Tourmaline provides a balancing of the male/female energies within the body and further provides for balancing of the mind. It is thought to bring healing powers to the user and to provide protection from all dangers occurring on the physical plane.

A fascinating property of some types of tourmaline has led to it being used for scientific and industrial purposes.  The piezoelectricity effect occurs when an electrical charge is induced by applying pressure to a tourmaline crystal in the direction of the vertical crystal axis – this can be used in pressure measuring equipment and other scientific applications.  A similar effect called pyroelectricity occurs when the crystal is heated yielding a positive charge at one end of the crystal and a negative charge at the other. (they are little batteries, how wonderful, just like us). Tourmaline crystals will also vibrate when an electrical currant is applied. Tourmalines are pleochroic. This means that the crystal will look darker in color when viewed down the long axis of the crystal than when viewed from the side. Gem cutter will often use this to their advantage cutting gems to enhance this quality.
